Stuart Brorson's Home Page
That's me posing imperiously in front of the Max Plank Institute for
Solid State Physics in Stuttgart, Germany, where I spent several happy
years conducting research in THz spectroscopy and superconductivity.
While in Stuttgart I also was involved in investigating the quality of
beer available in many German pubs!
Welcome to my ever-changing web page. I have re-organized the page
again because I will soon enlarge the web site, and I felt the need
to make sure that the topics were organized!

Secrets of the ViewDraw file format
(useful for writing Perl scripts
against your ViewDraw symbols and schematics).
-
A quick 'n dirty SONET frame
generator
written in Perl. I wrote this Perl script as a way to deepen my
understanding of how SONET handles pointer justification, as well as
to model the behavior of the indicator bytes in response to various
SONET fault conditions. Note that not all overhead bytes are simulated!
-
A small clutch of Perl scripts I use when
processing photos.
These are extremely rough and ready, so if you don't like hacking,
then don't even think about looking at them.
-
Pyxie -- a Python library providing convenient methods for
manipulation of XML files as DOM trees (amongst other things).
The official version lives
on Sourceforge. This version contains many of my hacks
incorporated to further ease tree manipulation.
-
Installing Linux on an IBM
Thinkpad 600E -- A record of my experiences, along with some tips
which might make your installation smoother than mine.
-
SPICE using gEDA -- gEDA is a GPLed set of tools
for electronic design. I have been working on expanding gEDA's SPICE netlister
to enable simulations of fairly complex analog designs. This page holds
documentation about using SPICE on gEDA, updated code for the netlister, some symbol
and model libraries, and two projects which I have done using gEDA.
-
Various materials for gEDA. This page holds links to some of my
recent contributions to the gEDA project.
