Back in the rear of the observation room you can get this view of Boston's harbor with cruiseships docked at Rowes Wharf and sailboats gracefully cutting through the water in the background. Back on the ground we headed northward on Atlantic Ave. The construction zone runs on the inside of the avenue. At one section, I peeked through a door closing off the construction site and saw the northbound on-ramp to the tunnel. Check out the new iron bracework at mid-level and remains of the old green expressway overhead.

Here's part of the old green monster, now a road to nowhere. We walked up the old exit ramp at One International Place. Here's a view of the partially deconstructed expressway across Atlantic Avenue. Somebody has painted a reassuring "Jesus saves" on the wall of the old roadway.

On top the old expressway, here's a view looking north. And here's a view of the Rowes Wharf entrance. Barely visible in the forground is the old roadway, now leading right off the cliff.

Here's another view north, this time showing more of Atlantic Aveune and the construction rubble below the old elevated structure. Craig stands beneath the old, useless exit sign, which remarkably still says "Exit 23 High St".
